My name is Anna and I opened my setting in 2017. I live with my amazing 11 year old son Maximus and our fantastic dog Diana. I have been working in childcare in England for almost 22 years and I simply can not imagine doing something else. I started as an au-pair in 1997 and over the years I managed to go through every possible childcare setting. Looking back in time, with a big smile on my face, I can definitely say that children are still the biggest and the most fulfilling passion in my life. Throughout all those years I gathered great amount of experience and training. I am still learning and I hope to do so for as long as my age will let me. I believe that not us but children are the greatest teachers of all.
I am proud mum of two amazing girls, 7 year old Nicola and Laura, who is almost 13. I have been working with children for the past 15 years and I can’t imagine doing anything else. Before Anna and I created Happy Feet Childminding Ltd I was working at primary school as a Teaching Assistant and Cover Supervisor across Early Years and KS1. Those 3 years provided me with countless opportunities to learn and develop. Working alongside amazing teachers and attending various courses and training sessions helped me to enrich my knowledge and qualifications.
Teaching class on my own when supplying the teacher helped me to learn how to manage big group of children and deal with challenging behaviour. Working across EYFS and KS1 curriculum helped me to stay on top of all the changes taking place in education.
Before I started working at school I worked for Merton Council as a Language Assistant providing interpreting services as well as short term English Language boosters for EAL students across the schools in Sutton and Merton.
I also worked with little children (3 months and up) first as a nanny for almost 3 years and then as a nursery nurse at Day Nursery for nearly 5 years. Within that time I achieved most of my major qualifications, Degree in Pedagogy ( Children’s Development and Teaching) and NVQ Level 2 in Childcare and Children’s Development.
I love working with children, supporting their little “huge” steps and celebrating their daily achievements. It’s one of the most inspiring and rewarding jobs and I can’t imaging doing anything else. Paulo Coelho said “ A child can teach an adult three things: To be happy for no reason; To always be curious; To fight tirelessly for something” and I can’t agree more.
As mums we know how difficult separation with a child could be and we still remember the guilt that just eats you up. We have been there, so we know how hard it is to leave your precious baby with strangers. We will do everything we can to make it easier for you by providing loving, caring and stimulating environment for your child.
